Jai Srimannarayana!
Jet Pittsburgh celebrated HH Swamiji’s 69th Thirunakshatram, Sri Maha Lakshmi Pooja & Dampathi
Varivasya on Sunday, Oct 26th.
Sriman Ragahava ji explained how to perform daily thiruvaaaradhana(morning aaradhana) to god
through simple steps. Deepam is lit by intertwining two wicks denoting Jnanam and Source. It is
important to learn slokas with an understanding of their meaning to attain true Jnanam.
Smt Subhashini led a diya making workshop with all Prajnites for today’s event. Kids offered their
gratitude to God and our beloved Acharya.
Significance and meaning of Dampathi Varivasya (Pada Pooja to parents by their children) was
explained as a form of seva offered to parents recognizing them as embodiments of divine grace and
as the first link to the guru parampara. The parents are honored as symbolic representations of Lord
Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi and kids sought their blessings.
Prajna teachers and parent volunteers cooked prasa:dam for the event. Lunch was served to all.
