We’ve had a lot going on lately with major family sicknesses and deaths of loved ones recently and I’ve been in White Plains a lot.

Connor’s grandmother passed away, a friend of mine and Carol’s lost his wife to dementia, Mr. Stanley passed, Papa Taylor passed away and my dad spent a week in the hospital but will hopefully be getting scheduled for a quadruple bypass soon.

I say all that to say that Jesus is working and walking right there beside me and I’m so grateful. I have been on a spiritual high through it all and I have been amazed at all the times I say. “Lord, I don’t think I can do this.”The Lord’s response is, “But I can.” So, I take His Hand and we keep on walking it out.

He’s also got some amazing people to help me. 🥰. You all have made it possible for me to be able to share little Jesuses from White Plains to Madison, to Watkinsville and to 3 hospitals in Athens. I had to order more because I only have about ten left. PEOPLE LOVE THESE!!! and I’m always generous with them and give them extras to share with others. They love being able to give!

You’ve all also made it possible for me to make several meals and/or desserts for friends that are shut in, unable to cook or just too busy caring for another. After spending all this time down at dad’s, I have to say, check on your grandma’s and grandpa’s because they might just be sitting on the front porch eating beanie weinies straight out the can! (Mine was) 🤮🎂

This week I’ll get Roger (his wife passed and had dementia) and a shut in female senior citizen with no family, some chicken and dressing and hot ham and cheese sandwiches on sweet Hawaiian rolls. Of course I’ll throw some vegetables in somehow;)

Again, thank you all so much for obeying God’s Word and looking out for the burdens and needs of others. Thank you for helping me plant seeds at every opportunity I’m given. I love you all!

As most of you know, Lovelight Charities is a very small operation receiving no grants or anything like that. I only have one recurring monthly donation and it has been a great blessing to the Fowler Court residents.

However, there are needs outside of Fowler Court that I have been trying to meet on my own and that is making meals for people (mostly elderly) that are just going through difficult times and would benefit greatly from a homecooked meal every once in awhile.

I have an elderly friend whose spouse is battling dementia at home so they are the primary caregiver and are completely exhausted and overwhelmed. My friend lives off of frozen corndogs, ham sandwiches and frozen pizza because there’s no energy left to cook anything else.

There’s a legally blind elderly friend that can only make the simplest of things such as a sandwich, a bowl of cereal, or a can of soup. Being legally blind, they cannot drive to the store. Also, they can barely work their phone, so ordering delivery online seems impossible.

There’s an entire assisted living home that has been near and dear to my heart for over a decade now. Before Covid I enjoyed ordering Captain D’s or KFC once in a while for the 6 (max #) residents that lived there but it’s been a very long time since I’ve been able to do that.

Those are just a few of the senior citizens I know that would benefit from this. If you remember, long before Covid, I delivered meals on Thursday nights to people that were sick, shut in or handicap. I thoroughly enjoyed it and they certainly appreciated it.

I don’t know that I will ever be able to deliver weekly again since my brain tried to k?!! me that time in 2022, BUT, I can do what I can do, when I can do it.

You all are so very generous and faithful to this little ministry when a need arises. I am so very blessed that God has always provided through you for every assignment he’s given us.

So, here I am again, asking you for monetary support for these needs. If you can and would like to donate you can Venmo me at Bonnie-M-Ellis or Zelle or Lovelight’s paypal. (Cash App also but I’m not very good at working it for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣)

May God continue to bless you as you have been such a blessing to so many others!

What a sweet, sweet feeling as I watched my grandbabies and my grown babies put together care bags for our friends at Fowler Court. When I made the decision to truly follow Christ, my prayer was simply, “Send me, Lord, I’ll go. Use me, Lord, as a living sacrifice. Let all who come in contact with me see You, Lord. Not me, but You.”

For 10 years I had not only my kids, but friends, family, fellow church members and friends of friendsout there with me feeding the homeless in Atlanta. God gave me a new assignment in my own corner of the world that I will admit took me months to accept. I remember crying to my friend, Heather, and telling her how I felt like I was breaking up with my homeless friends that I’d spent a decade coming to know

With much prayer and tears, I gladly stepped into my next assignment which brought me to my senior citizen friends at the Covington Housing Authority apartments.

For over 16 years, there have been countless care bags made under the roof of this house. There has been more food, hot chocolate, sandwiches, and casseroles baked in this kitchen than I can even remember. More Christmas gifts wrapped and goody bags made than I can count.

As I was going through some old pictures on FB from this 16-year assignment, I realized that God’s response to my simple prayer was, “I’ll send you, my child, but you’re going to be taking some folks along with you. Your children, your grandchildren, friends, family, and people you never would have expected. I’ll use you, but I’ll use them also; to support you, walk alongside of you, serve with you, make care bags with you. Because it’s not just for you; it’s for all who see your light shine and give Me the glory and honor Me through your good works” ( Matt 5:16)
