We had an incredible time celebrating the 17th Annual NKY Pride Parade and Festival in Covington today. Congratulations to all of the parade participants and winners; the sponsors and vendors who supported the festival; the incredible entertainment; and to all our residents and visitors who tuned out to show your LOVE in the COV today! What a wonderful way to honor and celebrate Katie Meyer’s legacy—she loved this event and poured her heart and soul into it for so many years. I think she would have been so proud of y’all! 🏳️🌈❤️

Ensuring our youth are prepared for the future has been a goal of mine for a long time. Whether that is sports, trades, college, arts or whatever interests them…we all need to ensure our youth is ready for the “big world”. Support Trades NKY any way you can.

Congrats to each of the awardees. The annual Authenti-CITY Awards and the Preservation Excellence Awards were presented yesterday and each were well deserving. The City also presented the first-ever COV-laborator Awards, which were a huge hit and everyone recognized has definitely contributed to the success of our City. Thank you for a well thought out and planned event. Covington City Hall Staff rocks.

The City of Covington’s 2026-2027 Draft Annual Action Plan is now available for review and public comment from April 25 - May 25, 2026. A public hearing will also be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, during the Covington Board of Commissioners Legislative Meeting, providing an additional opportunity for residents to share input on the proposed plan.
The draft plan outlines how the City proposes to allocate federal funding provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the upcoming program year. Covington anticipates receiving $1,386,115 through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and $643,064.73 through the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program.
The CDBG program supports a wide range of services and initiatives, primarily benefiting low- and moderate-income areas. Eligible uses include street and streetscape improvements, park upgrades, crime prevention efforts, parks and recreation programming, code enforcement, economic development initiatives, and early literacy programs.
The HOME program focuses on expanding access to safe, affordable housing. Covington participates in a regional consortium alongside the cities of Ludlow, Newport, Bellevue, Dayton, Erlanger, Florence, and Independence. HOME funds are typically used to support housing-related programs such as forgivable loans for homebuyers and the development of new affordable housing units for both homeownership and rental opportunities.
A link to the draft plan is available for review here:https://www.covingtonky.gov/Portals/covingtonky/PY%202026%20CDBG-HOME%20Annual%20Action%20Plan%20-%20draft%20for%20public%20comment.pdf

Another great annual event that continues to add to the Covington charm. Thank you to everyone who came out to help clean up our City on Saturday. I helped in my neighborhood, and hundreds of other neighbors around Covington helped in theirs as well. That is what makes Covington such an amazing place to call home. Looking forward to the next Covington Green Up event.

What an incredible day to kick off the first games of the season for our brand new Covington Youth Soccer League! ⚽️🥅 The kids were amazing, the coaches and refs were awesome, and we all had a lot of fun!
A huge thank you and congratulations to Greg Stacy and his team at Covington Parks & Recreation for launching this inaugural program; the Covington Recreation Committee, and in particular to Mike Waugh and Northern Kentucky Street Soccer for your time and dedication to creating something truly special for the youth of our community; and to James Toebbe, Covington Commissioner for joining me out at the pitch today to celebrate this new milestone for youth sports in Covington.
I am so proud and excited to see this program come to fruition and can’t wait to watch it grow. If you’d like to get involved with growing youth sports programs in Covington, please reach out to volunteer!
