Lt. Moeves joined Northern Kentucky SWAT in July 2023 when the Newport Police Department became one of our member agencies. Since then, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and tactical expertise. His dedication to the team has earned him the position of Assistant Team Leader of Green Team, where he continues to lead by example and mentor fellow operators.

Congratulations on this well-earned promotion, Lieutenant Moeves. We are proud to have you as part of the NKY SWAT family and look forward to your continued leadership and service.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Michael Whitford of the City of Alexandria, Kentucky Police Department, to the Northern Kentucky SWAT Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU).

Officer Whitford recently completed the NKY SWAT selection process and has been assigned as a Crisis Negotiator. With five years of law enforcement experience, he demonstrated the professionalism, communication skills, commitment, and dedication necessary to serve in this specialized role.

Crisis Negotiators play a vital role in helping resolve critical incidents through communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving, often bringing situations to a peaceful conclusion while protecting lives.

Officer Whitford's addition strengthens both our Crisis Negotiations Unit and the regional partnership that makes NKY SWAT successful. Congratulations, Officer Whitford, on your selection. We wish you continued success in your new assignment and look forward to the contributions you will make to the team.

Today, marks the observance of Memorial Day — a day dedicated to honoring and remembering the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🇺🇸

Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful for those who gave their lives in defense of this country and for the families who continue to carry their memory.

As we gather with family and friends today, NKY SWAT encourages everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and honor the heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
