To succeed in today’s world, students need to learn not just as young adults, but throughout their careers. We designed the CCA curriculum, based on classical education, to build a real desire to understand. Our unique Fifth Day program takes learning outside of the classroom to build life-long skills.

CCA Students went for a bike ride along the Ohio River Trail with Red Bikes - Doug McClintock, the Executive Director of Cincy Red Bike, provided bikes and helmets for students who then biked along the riverfront from Smale Park to International Friendship Park and back. Along the way, they learned about the geological fossil timeline, tree identification, and the industrial history of the riverfront's trains and water works.

Students who weren't yet confident cycling, worked with Scarlett Hayes, a volunteer with MoBo Bicycle Co-op, to develop their biking skills.

Students enjoyed a Fifth Day at the Kenton County Cooperative Extension Service where they toured the arboretum, learning about the over 100 woody plant species planted there. They also learned about planting wild meadows and harvesting and preparing maple syrup. Once inside, students enjoyed a cooking class; learning how to make pasta from scratch, then prepared the sauce and a salad to go with it. Throughout their time in the kitchen, students learned about food safety and safe practices in the kitchen.

Congratulations to CCA junior, Bunny, for earning a gold medal on their creative writing entry to this year's Scholastic Art & Writing competition! A gold medal is a national award; the ""highest honor in the longest-running, most prestigious creative competition for US and Canadian teens."" Only two Northern Kentucky students recieved a gold medal, and Bunny was the only student in Covington, KY - WOW!

For the 2025-26 school year there were over 310,000 student entries. Less than one half percent (0.5%) of entries recieved a gold medal this year.

Congratulations, Bunny!
