Coventry Public Library

Thank you to all who came out last night to learn about fishers! Dr. Laken Ganoe gave a terrific talk on DEM's research on fishers in Rhode Island. Here are a few things we learned:

- Fishers don't scream! It's FOXES that make that (scary!) screaming sound.

- Fishers are elusive and skittish and avoid humans as much as possible!

- Fishers are in the weasel family (they aren't cats), and have made a comeback in RI!

Summer Reading Kickoff event at the library this Saturday, June 6th from 10 am to noon. Children, teen and adult summer reading program registrations will begin at the kickoff. Kids and teens who register for the summer reading challenge will receive a free book, while supplies last! Any questions, please call Youth Services at 822-9102.
