We're starting to warm up with a few 80s on the board!
We'll be pushing the mid and upper 80s for most of our afternoon highs with partly to mostly cloudy skies. It'll stay a little cooler near the coast, but bring the water along either way, it'll be warm all around!
Going into the weekend, we'll see warming temperatures even pushing the lower 90s for some daytime highs⛅️

Good morning and Happy Thursday!
We're starting off pretty mild in the lower 70s across the board, but this afternoon we'll be back in the mid and upper 80s for daytime highs!
Combine that with dew points in the 70s, we'll be feeling more like the low 90s out there later today with more heat into the weekend🥵

Current look at the radar as of 9:46am April 20th, 2026.
The heaviest rainfall is coming down just southwest of Corpus Christi, with this activity slowly moving to the north-northwest. Some of it is already working into town, but over the next couple of hours we might see heavier embedded downpours at times so take your time on the roads today!

A look at rainfall estimates throughout the next seven days.
We should see at least a good 0.5-0.75" locally and into the watershed if everything holds together and doesn't play with my feelings👀
Under heavier downpours that develop, we could even see areas of up to 1-2" when all is said and done!
Looking forward to next week's drought monitor update on Thursday with hopefully some more improvements 🌧️

Had a great time at the CASA Superhero 5K this morning as Dr. “Stephen” Strange!
Incredible turnout for a great cause and got to meet quite a few people who do amazing work right here in the Coastal Bend😁
Now to go bargain with Dormammu for more rain in the forecast going forward…⛈️

What do you think? Our weather team wants to know!
Chief Meteorologist Stefanie Lauber will bring you an update on this Hot Topic in the Tropics tonight on KRIS News.
Heads up! Some storms are already moving in the southwestern Coastal Bend towards Jim Wells and Duval counties. These are tracking to the northeast and could reach Corpus Christi by 2-3pm if they hold together👀
They should be starting to weaken by that point, but remember tonight and into tomorrow morning could see more scattered showers and storms. Bring on the rain!⛈️😁
