Inside a modern MBR system: a closer look at wastewater treatment

What happens inside a membrane bioreactor (MBR) system?

In this video tour of Newterra's Clear3 ST-105 MBR facility, we take a closer look at how biological treatment and membrane filtration work together to produce high-quality effluent while maintaining a compact footprint.

MBR technology continues to play an important role in helping communities and developments address challenges such as:
▪️ Limited site space
▪️ Stringent discharge requirements
▪️ Seasonal population fluctuations
▪️ Long-term operational flexibility

By combining proven biological treatment with advanced membrane filtration, MBR systems can support reliable performance while simplifying treatment processes and reducing footprint requirements.

Take a look inside the system and see how the process comes together.

Turning tailings wastewater into a reusable resource.

At a rare earth mining operation in the Southwest, Newterra is delivering a containerised UF/RO system designed to treat tailings wastewater and support high-quality process water reuse on-site.

The project helps reduce freshwater demand, improve site water balance, and support operational continuity in a remote, water-intensive mining environment.

As mining operations face increasing pressure around water availability, permitting, and environmental performance, reuse is becoming an important part of long-term operational strategy.
