☀️ Summer can bring excitement — but it can also bring pressure.
Pressure to:
• keep kids constantly entertained
• create “perfect” summer memories
• maintain routines
• juggle work, childcare, and activities
If summer feels overwhelming sometimes, you are not alone.
Children do not need perfection. What supports them most is feeling safe, connected, and supported by caring adults.
It’s okay to slow down.
It’s okay to rest.
And it’s okay if every day isn’t “Pinterest perfect” 💚

💬 Communication learning happens all day long — not just during therapy sessions.
Everyday routines give children repeated opportunities to hear, understand, and practice language in meaningful ways. Research shows that children learn language best through consistent, responsive interactions with the people they spend the most time with.
That means small moments throughout the day can have a big impact 💚
Try modeling simple, functional words during routines you’re already doing:
🍎 Snack time: “more,” “eat,” “all done”
👟 Getting ready: “shoes on,” “coat,” “go”
🚗 Transitions: “let’s go,” “bye,” “car”
Using short, clear phrases helps reduce language overload while giving children repeated exposure to words connected to real experiences. Repetition and consistency support understanding, confidence, and eventually more independent communication.
You don’t need to turn every moment into a lesson.
Simple language, repeated often in everyday routines, is powerful ✨

🗣 Communication Tip: Model, Don’t Test
It’s natural to ask questions like “What’s that?” or “Can you say ___?”—but children often learn more from hearing language than being asked to perform it.
Try modeling instead:
👉 “That’s a big truck!”
👉 “Go up!”
👉 “I see a dog!”
This reduces pressure and gives children clear, repeatable language they can begin to use over time.
Simple shift, big impact 💬
