The Athena Leadership Academy is specifically customized for young female athletes and designed to enhance their natural leadership potential. Athena Leadership uses an engaging curriculum and dialogue with successful female professional and collegiate athletes to teach talented young girls how to focus the leadership qualities they’ve developed in sport and apply them in their classrooms and comm
unities. Athena Leadership’s mission is to prepare young female athletes for both life and competition. To this end, our core curriculum seeks to highlight the mental aspect of the game while at the same time sharpening specific leadership skills that will be demanded of them throughout both their athletic and academic careers. Training and experience in areas such as self-discipline, mental toughness, conflict resolution, and community service create highly appealing recruits, valued by NCAA coaches and CEOs alike. Finally, one of the most exciting elements of the 7-week program is our “Homegrown Success Stories” component, where we bring in local female professional and collegiate athletes to join in the discussion and share their knowledge, experience, and support. Each class will feature appearances by local NCAA and NPF all-stars, who not only played at the same ballparks and went to the same high schools these young girls do today, but who have gone on to have exceptional collegiate careers and continue to be strong, motivated women long after their athletic eligibility. In these workshops, each young girl will learn leadership lessons from some of the best in the game and see the amazing things her future holds even after her athletic career is over. By taking advantage of the collective knowledge and support of a sport-wide network right in our own backyard, Athena Leadership inspires the next wave of female leaders to believe and achieve.
