I recorded a bit of ambient guitar today, testing out a new signal setup with my Epiphone Casino. I'm using a P.o.B. Customs Princeton Pedal running into AUM in my iPad. All guitar effects, synths, and drums are generated using AUM plugins. Enjoy!

So, I think it's always sad when any software is phased out, especially for the people who are probably losing their jobs.
BUT, on a lighter note, as someone who has used Sibelius since version 2, I think this is HILARIOUS. I cannot tell you how many people told me over and over that I need to switch to Finale and how much better it is than Sibelius. I have always preferred Sibelius, but in the interest of not yucking someone else's yum, I never told people they should stop using Finale, but I definitely got a lot of judgement from Finale users.
Dorico is really cool, and if I wasn't so entrenched in Sibelius, I would probably have switched years ago when it first came out. (Side note: my AP music theory class interviewed Daniel Spreadbury of Dorico years ago, and we were excited about it then.)
Now the funny part, when AVID bought Sibelius, they closed the Sibelius office. One of the people that was let go was Daniel Spreadbury. He and several others were picked up by Steinberg to begin developing what became Dorico. And now, Finale is phasing out and encouraging users to move to Dorico, which was built by the people that built Sibelius, and is, in a lot of ways, what Sibelius "should" have become, had AVID not gutted it.
Anyway, I hate that people are losing Finale, but I hope that the ability to convert the .mus files continues so you can update your score, but I feel very vindicated about sticking to Finale for 25+ years.

I generally love Rhett's videos and I think this little 10 minute lesson is super valuable for anyone learning guitar, especially beginner to intermediate skill level. Super advanced players can probably skip this, but even those players might find a helpful reminder or two in there. Also, this a great resource for my friends who teach guitar (Jay Shepherd, Dougie Roisen, just to name a couple).

I have been interested in getting into Video Game music design for some time now, and thanks to inspiration from Brian Elizondo, finally started learning more about it. I have downloaded FMOD Studio and started playing around a bit. Here's a tune that I think would fit well in a video game. Let me know what you think (good or bad!!)
