Rise & Shine! Gus and his Clara decided to move their nest from the seclusion of the woods to the tropical garden at our house. Nesting geese are unpredictable and vicious. It's normal behavior that helps them survive but it's not OK at our back porch. So when Gus unleashed his inner velociraptor, we made it clear that this is not Jurassic Park. He's a smart goose and quickly got the message. Today, we are peacefully co-existing and ready to ring in the new year! PS: it's made it very convenient to gather the goose eggs 😁 We hope you had a very merry Christmas with your family and friends. Have a blessed day!

Rise & Shine!☀"Say cheese" Opossums are very helpful to the environment and under normal circumstances we like having them on the property. Unfortunately over the summer this beast chose to stop foraging the woods and wreak havoc inside the barnyard. We've experienced a large increase of wild visitors due to the clearing and development of 50 acres of wooded land next to us. With their habitat destroyed and little to eat, the fox, hawks, falcons, coyotes, bobcats, opossums and racoons were pushed on top of us. It's a sad state of affairs that many rural families just like us are forced to adapt to. Fortunately, there are still safe areas to relocate wildlife and we are happy to say that this merry marsupial is living it's best life far away from humans and livestock. A good end.
