Watch out for a scam email -

‘Notification of IRS Audit & Investigation.’

The email may direct you to download a “secure” file (in some cases via sites like Cognito Forms) and submit documentation, but in fact the link leads to a fraudulent site that may steal your data or install malware.

Report fake IRS, Treasury or tax-related emails and messages | Internal Revenue Service If you get a phishing email or suspicious message that claims to be from the IRS or the Treasury Department or is tax-related, report it. You can help shut down scams.
