The Conroe Scribblers club was organized by Hughie Call, author of The Shorn Lamb, and her sister, Louise Berthold, on July 5, 1966, at The St. James Episcopal Church. The Club is a charter member of the Montgomery County Literary Arts Council. During its long life the Club has held meetings in a variety of locations, including members’ homes.
