Last night, one of our fosters and her young friend found this precious soul on the side of the road (C**n Hollow off 3083, Conroe, TX). She was in agonizing pain, dragging her back end. With the help of a very nice guy who had a folding table to help lift her into our van, we rushed her to Conroe ER.
She was in such horrific shape—severe anemia, heavy flea infestation, neurological damage, and internal injuries—that the vet couldn't even tell if she’d been hit by a car or was simply shutting down from neglect and disease. The one clear thing was she was suffering. The kindest thing we could do was let her go peacefully, surrounded by love.
The rampant abuse, neglect, and abandonment in our area with zero consequences has to stop. We are drowning, and we need you. Please, join our team or another local rescue. We can all do something to help. This senior dog should never have been out on her own. She should have been at home with a family that loved her.
We are so sorry that she couldn’t be saved but we are thankful she didn’t die a slow painful death in a ditch. No more suffering.
Thank you to Animal Hospital and Emergency Clinic of Conroe Dr Bynum, the receptionist and vet techs on duty were all so professional and their help was immediate.

This is Clarke. He is just a few months old, and he is one of the "lucky" ones. Looking at him, it’s hard to feel anything but pity. Clarke was rescued from a terrible situation in the New Caney area, and both his little body and his sweet spirit are completely broken.
He is missing fur, his skin is scabby and cracked, and his tiny belly is full of parasites. Fleas were actively crawling across his precious little face.
A few months old and in terrible condition.
Before our friend caught him, he was likely never touched or shown a kind hand.
Our hearts are completely shattered for this family. While Clarke made it out, two of his siblings were hit and killed by cars. We can only pray their passing was quick. Even now, their mom and one remaining puppy are still out there on the streets.
We are praying they will be caught soon.
We are endlessly grateful for the kind, selfless people who go out of their way to notice these stray, abandoned, and neglected souls and reach out for help. Because a foster stepped up, Clarke's life changes today. He will never have to dodge cars, go hungry, or wonder if he is safe again. He doesn’t know it yet, but his life is about to get a whole lot better.
Welcome to the good life, sweet boy. Your healing starts now. ❤️

Meet Sammy, our latest rescued pup!
Sammy was found as a stray in terrible condition, no chip and no id. Luckily, he was found by a dog lover who got him groomed and completely vetted (heartworm negative). The finder is a friend of Lone Star Animal Welfare League and reached out to Laura who then reached out to us. Again, many hands helping one dog ❤️
Sammy has been aged at between 4 and 5 years old and is a good boy! His foster family will be assessing him before he’s available for adoption.
