This past year brought upon the world a pandemic, shone a light upon a nation still struggling with mistreatment and oppression and brought forth a challenge to our democracy.

Martin Luther King Jr, from a Birmingham jail on April 16, 1963 wrote, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” This is where we stand as a team and organization, members of the larger social good community, and members of the human race.

The recent attacks on the U.S Capitol rise in stark contrast to the nonviolent direct action used by Martin Luther King, Jr. to create constructive tension, dialogue, and change.

We believe that as we work under a higher purpose every day for diversity, equity and inclusion that the world can be a better place. We will continue to make ongoing and focused efforts to develop our organization, impact the clients we serve and the communities we work within.

You have the organization’s commitment including Executive and Leadership Teams and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force, and focus on making strides by providing an open forum for dialogue, training, and education, enacting company policies that support equality, and bringing that into the work we do as an organization to impact broader systemic problems. We must use the strength of our organization to make change.

In Honor of Martin Luther King Junior, the DEI Task Force wishes to thank Ascentria. Thank you for the openness, support, empowerment, and recognition of the need to hear our employees and envision strategies that improve the experiences of our neighbors and communities.
