Yes sir. And that’s all there is to it. Get one phone call asking me to show up and pour. Easy peasy, piece of cake. Those are words I often hear. 🙄

I am so thankful to be where i am today with Two Shots on the Rocks, LLC and no complaints (well, not too many LOL). But it takes WAY more effort than to answer a single phone call and “just show up and pour” the way some people think. This business didn’t just fall in my lap and there is WAY more to it than most could ever imagine.

I’ll never take for granted the support of family and friends and well over 500 clients/events, and counting, for helping us grow our business during these last 5+ years. It’s amazing to be a part of people’s celebrations regardless of the event.

5 years retired (well, from corp life)

5 years ago today was my last day from working with the Ahold Delhaize company, aka Food Lion to the Charlotte area. I had a 34 year (to the day) career with them. J and I had planned for almost 1 year my departure from the company but never said a word to anyone until 1 month prior to my leaving. It was a great career and one that I will always be grateful. However, it was time to leave and a decision that I’ve never regretted!

I had no plans other than to decompress from 34 years of the company consuming every second of my being. I didn’t know what I was going to do BUT I knew what I wasn’t going to do. I wasn’t going to sit at Biscuitville or McDonald’s in the morning with other old men with their pants pulled up under their armpits, drinking coffee and eating biscuits and talking about high blood pressure or diabetes. Thats not me!

Mixology had been a fun passion of mine for years. I went to bartending school in 2007 just for the fun of it. I enjoyed creating a look and a taste and enjoyed “playing around” with different concoctions.

Long story short, Two Shots on the Rocks, LLC was spoken into existence. What was a fun idea with the hopes of landing 1 or 2 events a month, has turned into an 11 person team doing 120 events in 2023. Never in my craziest/wildest dreams would have imagined what has happened in these last 5 years. We are very humbled and blessed with a small business that so many people have supported and continue to support. I’m often asked what is next. I honestly don’t know. Right now, we are just enjoying helping others celebrate whatever occasion they need our services.

5 years have literally FLOWN by for me. To all my former (good) coworkers, thank you for all you did for me during my career. To the (bad) coworkers, well I’m not friends with you on FB so never mind. 😂. To anyone who is considering retiring, there IS life after you leave!

And to everyone, I say CHEERS! There’s nothing like two shots on the rocks. 🥃🥃
