There's nothing quite like watching a third-grader's face light up the moment they touch a sea creature for the first time. 🐠

We had the best time bringing our touch tank to Walt Whitman High School for Ms. Cristine's Maplewood class, a visit we look forward to every year. Huge thanks to Fred Feraco and John Karavias for making it happen alongside us, and to South Huntington Schools for always making marine education a priority.

These kids are the next generation of ocean lovers.

Recently, we had the honor of welcoming Victor from industry leading World Wide Corals to Island Fish & Scale, and it turned into one of those conversations that reminds you exactly why you started.

When you strip it all back, it always comes down to the same things: love, curiosity, and a deep respect for the animals we care for.

From coral talk and system walkthroughs to sharing stories about the wins, the challenges, and the “why” behind it all, it was a powerful reminder of how strong this industry is when passionate people come together. Connecting with others who live and breathe this work every day keeps that fire lit.

We do this so the next generation can see the importance of protecting living ecosystems. To educate. To nurture. To raise the standard. To show that aquariums, when done responsibly, are about stewardship, sustainability, and respect.

On World Aquarium Day, we celebrate not just the beauty of aquatic life, but the responsibility that comes with it and the community that makes it all possible.

Thank you Vic, Truly. Thank you for visiting and for a great time!

Day 1 at Aquashella was one for the books!

For us, this isn’t just about showcasing fish & coral from our collection, it’s about sparking wonder, sharing knowledge and fostering a community that truly cares for these incredible animals.

This kind of inspiration is made possible by how far technology and equipment in the hobby has come. From incredible specialty builds like the Kreisel 10 Jellyfish Aquarium and innovations from , Which takes the "scary" out of your first endeavor in the hobby. The tools we now have make it possible to share our experiences with our hobby adjacent freshwater enthusiasts looking to take the leap into Salt!

Industry partners and enable us to further the mission of responsible and sustainable reefing through their aquacultured species. 🐠💡

And from a business perspective, we’re grateful for the ethical supply chain & offer, making it possible to bring these products to our shows and stores. Partnerships like these help us continue to grow and share the hobby we love.

Our very first Aquashella has been an absolute joy and we can’t wait to be back when they visit the East Coast again! 🙌
