The canopy of clouds that blanketed South Georgia this morning is exiting, with only our easternmost counties seeing cloudy skies. The rain has come to an end for all but only the extreme southern part of Clinch County in the Okefenokee Swamp area. Sunny conditions will belie the fact that we have very high fire danger conditions this afternoon with gusty winds and very dry fuel moisture. Outside of the fire concerns, highs will reach the mid to upper 70s today with one more cool night with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s. Clouds will make somewhat of a comeback tomorrow before decreasing again later in the week, with a beautiful but warm weekend shaping up. -Dana

4/6/26, 8:15 PM EDT - I’m home among a bunch of trees and couldn’t get a good sunset pic. PLEASE tell me y’all have captured some good shots of it to do it justice! Share away in the comments.

We're tracking some very light showers near the Florida border this morning; otherwise, cloudy skies are the rule in SGA. Those showers won't be enough to quell drought conditions, but the clouds will keep temperatures cool as we struggle to reach 70 degrees today for highs, with many staying in the upper 60s. -Dana

Scattered showers are affecting areas mainly north and west of Columbus this morning. The entire area will likely see some rainfall before the morning is through, however, so take an umbrella with you to any Easter gatherings or services. The back edge of the precipitation will work its way through later this afternoon into the early evening, bringing cooler weather in its wake with lows tonight in the upper 40s to lower 50s. A beautiful spring week is on tap starting tomorrow with temperatures near normal and dry conditions. -Meteorologist Dana Barker

Showers and thunderstorms (non-severe) will be likely tomorrow for Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, it looks like the highest rain chances will come in the morning...too soon to tell if sunrise services (7:22 AM EDT in Columbus) will see rainfall. -Dana
