Congrats to the Columbus Metropolitan Library team and the Canal Wi******er community on the grand opening of the new Canal Wi******er Branch. The energy of this weekend's celebration and incredible turnout made it clear that this is a space the community is eager to use from day one. At 30,000sf, the new branch creates room for how people use a library today, including meeting rooms, study rooms, an interactive children’s area, dedicated tween and teen spaces, learning center, business center, plus a range of seating and quiet reading areas.
Bostwick Design Partnership and Wellogy led the architectural design, with EDGE providing landscape architecture. Together, the team extended the library experience outdoors with a shaded patio seating area, foundation plantings, clear pedestrian and vehicular circulation, and integrated safety features that support daily visits and community events. Floor-to-ceiling windows strengthen the connection between indoor spaces and the landscape, bringing in abundant daylight to support wellbeing.
