Days 2 and 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week were absolutely AMAZING! โค๏ธ๐๐
From concession stand favorites to All Star recognition moments, our MLK staff has felt the love all week long! On Tuesday, teachers enjoyed popcorn, sodas, brownies, cookies, grilled hot dogs and burgers, chips, and Wednesday delicious subs from Jasonโs Deli, and even grits and sausage to keep our champions fueled and celebrated!
We also completed our Signing Day experience by collecting the rest of our teacher autographs and officially adding every staff member to our MLK Wall of Fame! Seeing our MVPs recognized and celebrated in such a special way made these days even more meaningful.
Most importantly, we are grateful for the incredible community partners and supporters who helped make these special days possible. Thank you to St. Maryโs UMC, Kia Autosport of Columbus, United Way Community in Schools, our amazing Admin Team, and Jimmy Joyner for pouring into the staff of MLK Elementary School. Your generosity, encouragement, and support mean more than words can express.
Our teachers give their hearts to students every single day, and this week was a reminder that they are seen, valued, and appreciated. ๐ซ

Happy Principal Appreciation Day to an incredible leader, Ms. Thompson! ๐๐ฌ
Today we celebrate a principal who truly goes above and beyond every single day to ensure that both students and teachers feel supported, valued, and empowered. Ms. Thompson leads with compassion, care, and a genuine commitment to uplifting everyone in our school community. Her ability to connect with others and create a positive, nurturing environment is what makes MLK such a special place.
She works tirelessly alongside our families, staff, and community stakeholders to ensure that our students and teachers have the resources they need to succeed. Her leadership is not just about managing a school, itโs about building relationships, fostering growth, and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.
Ms. Thompson embodies the qualities of an exceptional principal: she is a visionary, a servant leader, a problem-solver, and a constant source of encouragement. She inspires others to be their best, celebrates successes big and small, and leads with integrity and purpose.
Her vision for MLK is clear. Itโs to ensure that our Dolphins continue to grow, learn, and make waves that create a lasting, positive impact on their future. Because of her leadership, our school is stronger, our community is closer, and our students are better prepared for what lies ahead.
Thank you, Ms. Thompson, for all that you do. We appreciate you today and every day! ๐ซ
