Mrs. Ohio America Pageant

These are some of my all-time favorite (non-professional) photos from pageant weekend.

Of course they’re of my kids, so naturally, I adore them. But honestly, it’s deeper than that.

My kiddos watched the entire pageant. They saw their momma emcee on stage, speaking confidently to a room full of people all day and evening. My shy, skeptical little boy surprised me; he found the courage to walk on stage not once, not twice, but multiple times because he wanted to. He even grabbed the microphone and shouted, “O-H!” only to hear the crowd echo back, “I-O!”

Never in a million years would I have imagined him doing that… but he did, and he did it with excitement. Because he saw me do it first.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the most beautiful example of why this organization and this opportunity mean so much.

It’s not just about the crown and sash. It’s not just about wearing this stunning custom Jovani gown from . It’s about showing my kids that courage is contagious — that public speaking can be fun, and fear doesn’t have to hold them back.

This might just be my favorite reason for being part of pageantry — it truly takes the cake.

Over the school year, the Award-Winning, Middletown High School Band performed at our school and inspired the students with extra curricular activities that the students can join, such as the band. Activities like these, can give students self-confidence, friendships and new experiences.
Grateful that these Middies came to our school this day, and as I reflect on that day,
I reflect on this special day today.

I am honored to share that I have been selected to be a Keynote Speaker at the 2025 School Success Conference!
As the Ambassador for The School-Based Center of Excellence, it is an honor to continue to advocate and amplify the voices of students and staff members.
It is special to be able to continue to utilize my voice in this way, for mental health awareness, drug and alcohol prevention, and to inform, educate, and fight for change.

Let’s continue to build resiliency through prevention. ❤️
