It’s Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month and go support delicious Asian or Korean restaurants like Minga in Bethel Rd!
My mom’s dream was being successful in America with elementary school education and a child. She didn’t want to be a burden to her husband which the family expected her to be and she retired successfully with 2 grandkids and 2 daughters 💗
As we recognize Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, I’ve been reflecting on my own journey and how grateful I am for the opportunities and community that have shaped my life.
I immigrated from Korea to the United States when I was just one year old. Growing up between cultures gave me a deep appreciation for diversity, resilience, family, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel seen and valued.
Although I was raised in the United States, I have always continued to practice and embrace Korean culture, traditions, and values throughout my life. One of my greatest joys has been passing those traditions and cultural appreciation on to my daughter so she can stay connected to her heritage and understand the importance of where our family’s story began.
I’m also proud to be actively involved in supporting and sharing international cultures both locally in our community and through my work in corporate, Whether through cultural events, community engagement, or building meaningful relationships with people from different backgrounds, I believe there is so much strength in learning from one another.
Our stories, traditions, and experiences help make our workplaces and communities stronger. I’m thankful to work alongside individuals who celebrate inclusion and encourage cultural understanding every day.
Happy Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! 🇰🇷🌏
