Everyone wants better financial results—but lasting progress doesn't start with the numbers.

Each Thursday, the 3-2-1 newsletter by James Clear appears in my inbox. Last Thursday, he reminded us: "Everyone wants better results. Skill precedes results. Practice precedes skill. Attitude precedes practice. It's the willingness to try (and keep trying) that leads to ability."

The same is true with your finances.

Financial confidence isn't built overnight. It grows through small, consistent actions: creating a budget, paying down debt, building savings, asking questions, and learning along the way.

You don't have to be perfect to make progress. You just have to be willing to start—and keep showing up.

Every positive financial habit you build today becomes the foundation for greater confidence tomorrow.

Fun Friday Financial Fact: Over 60% of the world now uses digital wallets!

Is your wallet getting lighter? It’s not just you. More than half of American adults have officially ditched physical cards for apps like Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo.

Here is how the numbers break down,
by age:
- Gen Z Leads: Over 90% of young adults use digital wallets daily.

by purchases:
- Online shopping: 61% of us prefer digital wallets when buying online.

New student loan rules take effect July 1. Here's what borrowers should know. 07/01/2026

Major Student Loan Changes Take Effect Today (July 1, 2026)!

If you or your children have federal student loans, the rules of the game just changed under the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act". Today marks the biggest overhaul to the student loan system we have seen in decades.

Here is what you need to know to stay ahead of the curve:
1. Stricter Borrowing Limits: Parent PLUS loans are now capped at $20,000/year ($65,000 total), Graduate degree loans are capped at $100,000, and new borrowers are blocked from Graduate PLUS loans entirely.
2. Lifetime Loan Cap: Most borrowers now face an all-time lifetime borrowing limit of $257,500 across both undergraduate and graduate studies.
3. Shrinking Repayment Options: New borrowers will only have two choices: a Tiered Standard Plan or the new Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP).
4. The SAVE Plan is Fading Out: The Biden-era SAVE plan is being wound down. Loan servicers are starting to notify SAVE borrowers today—you have 90 days to pick a new plan, or you'll automatically land on the Standard Plan.
5. Pell Grant Shakeup: High-asset families can no longer exploit loopholes to get Pell Grants, but funding is expanding for high-quality, short-term trade and workforce training programs.

At Next Chapter Finances, we know how overwhelming shifting financial regulations can be. Don't leave your repayment to guesswork or default settings! Log into studentaid.gov today, verify your contact info, and map out your next chapter.🔗

Fun Friday Financial Fact: Did you know that more Monopoly money is printed each year than US currency?

It's true! According to CNBC, Hasbro prints roughly $30 billion in Monopoly money each year. In contrast, the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing typically prints between $700 million and $1 billion in actual physical currency annually (the vast majority of which is used to replace old, worn-out bills).

What are you favorite memories of playing Monopoly? For me, it was days long games with my parents that stayed on the dining room table all week!

On Sunday, June 21 at 4:24 AM, we celebrate the Summer Solstice. The day when we enjoy the most hours of daylight and fewest hours of darkness. For months, the days have been imperceptibly been getting longer. We haven't noticed until we did! When we wake at 6 AM, suddenly it is already light! Our evening walk at 9 PM is still under the light of the sun.

Here on the Solstice, we celebrate fullness, warmth light. We celebrate the abundance in nature and we take the time to reflect on the abundance in our lives.

On the Solstice, take some time to ask yourself these questions:
- What did you plant in your life in the spring or even at the Winter Solstice that is now beginning to flower and bloom into abundance?
- What amazing aspects of your life are now evident to you under the bright light of the summer sun?
- What will you continue to nurture and acknowledge as you move into the depths of summer?

We celebrate the Solstice in gratitude for the fullness in nature and in our lives. ☀

Next week, we are back to our Fun Friday Financial Facts!
