Schwob Prep is thrilled to introduce Dr. Aesook Moon (organ) to our Prep faculty! Now, Dr. Moon will be teaching organ for both college and pre-college students at Schwob.

Dr. Aesook Moon has been teaching organ at the Schwob School of Music since 2025. She has served as a collaborative pianist at Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music since 2009, accompanying voice and instrumental students as well as the University Singers.

Dr. Moon earned her bachelor’s degree in organ performance from Seoul Presbyterian Seminary and a master’s degree from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. She later completed a second master’s degree in organ performance at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and in 2006 earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance from the University of North Texas. While in Texas, she won first prize and the Best Hymn Playing Award at the William C. Hall Organ Competition.

Before coming to Columbus, Dr. Moon served as an adjunct organ instructor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and as organist for First-Centenary United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, TN; First United Methodist Church in Dothan, AL; and St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA. She has performed numerous solo organ recitals and accompanied various choirs throughout her career. Dr. Moon currently serves as associate organist/choirmaster for Trinity Episcopal Church.
