We now have two locations in the Cleveland area! Our newest store is in Shaker Heights at 12805 Larchmere Blvd. Easy access to all you east siders! If you havent been to Larchmere Blvd lately, make sure you have time to visit Loganberry Books, the many interesting shops, and take your pick from some great casual or sophisticated dining spots on Larchmere or nearby Shaker Square!

Europe and much of Asia used a different format (PAL)for recording videotape, and many immigrants cannot play their tapes because the equipment is not readily available in the USA. For many years, we have purchased PAL vcrs from an entrepreneur in Ukraine. When one of our PAL recorders bit the dust, we were happy to find out that he was still doing business and we got our newest PAL vcr in a matter of weeks. Slava Ukraine!

So sometimes we are reminded that the work we do matters in very real ways, and I want to share this story. The other day, a lady brought in a box of videotapes, and as with every customer, I try to have a conversation to get to know them. Like many customers, she could not remember what was on all the tapes, how long they were, and whether they were "important." She said things that I have heard before: "Oh, the kids (in their 30s) won't be interest in this stuff. "its mostly boring stuff." etc.. Then she said that she said that her hustand was in a nursing home, and that he was in the end stages of Parkinson's Disease; that he could not talk anymore, etc .After sharing a few more details of his condition, I said, will he want to watch these videos? Oh yes, she said. He'll watch every minute. Then a pause-- We will watch every minute together. So these are important, I said. Yes, she replied, they are priceless.
