The Bad Button

I think this was one of the last pieces I made before running off to last week's show, and funnily enough it ended up being the last piece that sold! Made from a damaged obi, I had just enough to match across the panels. I love how the new owner came into the booth thinking she wanted a different color scheme, but fell in love with this one once it was on. That's a feeling I understand so much - thinking you want a particular pattern or color and then falling in love with a fabric you never intended to use. Does that explain my fabric purchasing? Maybe!

I think my favorite obi to work with to make these cinchers are the metallic ones. They're very hard to match ribbon to, but with every little movement you catch the light and it reflects back to you differently than just moments before.
