This is a second-trimester, 15-week old baby who was brutally dismembered through a Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) abortion.
This surgical procedure is performed between 13 and 24 weeks of pregnancy. After the cervix is dilated by laminaria, an abortionist will insert forceps into the uterus, grasp whatever part of the baby is possible (usually a limb), and pull out in a twisting motion. The baby is then dismembered piece by piece with the head usually being pulled out last after being crushed between the teeth of the forceps.
