When I sit down to draw, I try to let go of everything negative I’ve been holding on to. I sit in solitude and tranquility to garner as much peace as I can so I can transfer that positive energy to my drawing.

When I drew the honor ichi pattern, I was thinking of the family I will never know; the people that made it possible for me to be here. There are countless numbers of those ancestors and with this pattern I pay tribute to them all, as well as the sunlight that bathes us with love each day ☀️🥰

When I carry this tote, I carry these thoughts with me too. I honor my ancestors and that connection to them continues to inspire me.
