Redding has been a noted author since his first editorials were published in 1960 for Life Magazine ("The Lord's Prayer" and "Faith of Our Fathers") and articles in Reader’s Digest and many other periodicals. He is also widely quoted in other collections of stories and on national radio programs. His 27th book, The Origin of My Faith, was published last year (2009) and is a winsome testimony to th
e way his life has been powerfully impacted by the living God. Brief and deep, the book describes the crucial events that became turning points of faith for him. Redding’s twenty first book, "A Rose Will Grow Anywhere" , published by Broadman & Holman, Nashville, Tennessee, was released in June, 1996. The wide-ranging combination of personal testimony, fascinating historical anecdotes and an enthusiastic defense of Christianity reminds us that God is present even in the darkest moments, and that He is always working for the good of His people. Revell published his twentieth book, "The Golden String" in 1988. And Guideposts selected it and his two previous volumes: "Amazed By Grace", 1986, and "Before You Call I will Answer", 1984, as Book Club Features. As well as his books, his published writings include editorials for Life Magazine ("The Lord's Prayer" , "Faith Of Our Fathers") and articles in Reader’s Digest and many other periodicals. David speaks all over the country and preaches from his life experiences, not merely as an expert or authority on the Bible. David served as a Deck Office in the United States Navy. He has degrees and commissions from Oberlin, Vanderbilt and Columbia Universities, West Michigan and Ohio State University. The College of Wooster, Wooster Ohio, awarded him its Distinguished Alumni Award and Flagler College, St. Augustine, Florida bestowed a Doctorate of Humane Letters. A native of Wooster, Ohio, David and his New Concord wife, Dorothy McCleery Redding, moved to Delaware, Ohio from St. Augustine, Florida, with their four teenagers, to build a stone home together with their own hands on their 100 acre beef cattle farm. The house they built, became a safe haven for more than a dozen foster children, boat persons and refugees. From 1976 to 2003, he was Senior Minister of Liberty Presbyterian Church, Delaware, Ohio with over 2000 parishioners. He is still serving in the ministry at Sky Farm Chapel every week, and speaking around the country.
