In the summer of 2019 I adopted my first dog, a 7-year-old Beagle name Bagel. using breeders, but I had not yet had the opportunity to adopt a dog of my own. This one particular July day I was feeling inspired and began to browse the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center site, when I came across Bagel's mug shot. I knew I had to at least go meet him. We walked and played around outside and
, after feeling an instant connection, I asked if he'd like to go home with me to a big yard and other animals to pal around with. I took his happy-go-lucky expression as a "yes" and adopted him immediately. The staff could not have been any nicer or more accommodating during the process. Bagel has changed so much since his first day in his forever home, and he's changed me as well. I want other people to have the same experience that I've had with Bagel and I want every dog to have a family that loves them for who they are. During the 2020 quarantine, I started thinking of something I could do to not only fill up some of my new found time, but also do some good for all of the well-deserving fur babies still waiting for their new families. The idea of Pop 4 Pups came to me while listening to dance pop and playing Dr. Mario, as one does. I knew I didn't want to do this project alone, so I invited (begged) some of my fellow musicians from around Columbus to help out. I am so happy with the finished product and love the fact that I got to work with so many friends from some really great local bands. I hope you enjoy the songs and will consider donating to help the pups. Every dollar donated will go straight to the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center. I will be personally matching the donations to ensure we can hit some marquee goals set for our first year.
