“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.”

United Fence Company strives to be the best at designing, constructing, and installing quality products. Their experience allows them to be more innovative in our approach to your fencing and enclosure needs. They have been in the fence and gate industry for over 50 years, giving an advantage over the competition. Their custom products are manufactured locally at their facility on Miller Road in Columbus, Georgia.

In 1953, Dan Mitchell relocated from Sherman, Texas, to Columbus, Georgia, with the idea of building a full-service fence company. He worked for the next 10 years with local fence companies, and in 1963, Dan teamed with Bryan Pennell and opened United Fence Company. As shown in the photo, it was originally located on Talbotton Road in Columbus. Dan eventually became the company's sole owner, which has operated in Columbus continuously since its inception in 1963.

In 1973, Dan's son Moody joined the company and remained actively involved. Dan's son Mark joined the company in 1984, and in 1991, Moody and Mark became co-owners of the company when Dan retired. In 2000, they built their new office, showroom, and manufacturing facility at 4836 Miller Road, where the business has operated for 17 years.

Over the years, the type of fencing they specialize in has evolved. In the early years of operation, chain link fencing was their main product. In the 1970s, Dan had the foresight to introduce "custom-built wood privacy fencing" to the Columbus area. They continue to install a large amount of this type of fencing.

For more than 50 years, the Mitchells have continued to stay current with their customers' changing preferences and provide excellent quality products and services.

From its start in 1963 to the present day, United Fence Company has helped thousands of commercial and residential customers improve their properties' security, use, and beauty. As one of the largest fence contractors in the southeast, United Fence Company has been committed to excellence in its product design, construction, warranty, and maintenance.

Their Shield of Quality logo is your guarantee, as it has been for over fifty years.
