Happy birthday to BARD! Launched on April 30, 2009, BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) is an online digital download service for individuals with print disabilities. Fun fact: In FY25, patrons downloaded more than 4.3 million audio items from BARD!

Talking Book Services patrons can use BARD to download books and magazines or save titles to a personal wish list. Enrolled NLS patrons with an active BARD account can also access BARD. Questions? Email us at [email protected] or call 1-800-922-7818.

The South Carolina State Library Talking Book Services Department is thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s Let’s Celebrate Art! TBS Art Gallery!

Congratulations to all of our winners and participants! Your talent, imagination, and dedication made this year’s gallery a tremendous success.

The artwork remains available for viewing both in person at the State Library and through the virtual audio descriptive gallery — we encourage everyone to continue celebrating these remarkable young artists.
