On this day 77 years ago, more than 160,000 allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy in northern France. 10,000+ killed. The liberation of Europe had begun. No, my friends, freedom isn't free. It was bought with a price; the blood of patriots. May we never forget D-Day and the sacrifices that were made that day that continue to echo throughout the generations.
