GENSEND UPDATE 🚨‼️đź¤
Cowboy hat ministry for the (gospel) win!
Our GenSend mission team has been busy building relationships within the local church body and finding places in the community meet with people and tell them about Jesus from the pickleball court to the coffee shop! Here’s an update from our friend Jonathan palmer !
“Hey!
Jonathan Palmer here and I have to report that Gensend San Diego has been a formative and fantastic experience, to learn what life on mission is like from the lens of a new perspective. A lot of our time so far has been with a really relational church family at platform church, where we seek to build connections with newcomers and bonds with current members. Navigating the day to day in a fast paced city like San Diego sounds daunting but the Lord provides with receptiveness and tender hearts in engaging locals both lost and discouraged. Also i’ve found that cowboy hat ministry (pictured 🤠) is a fruitful venture for many Spirit led conversations started over a simple “I like your hat”.
All in all thank you guys for prayers and encouraging words over our team here, and 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Hi FCM! 🫶🏻
Another week in the big SD!! What a sweet and encouraging week we have had oh my goodness God is SO SO good! We got to spend our first sunday with our church plant and got to meet so many wonderful faces :) Monday we had our GenSend team training and got to host our fellow gensenders for dinner! said night ended with a boo boo for ashton’s toe :( Tuesday was a super rejuvenating day, we got to work with Care House Ministries to make backpacks for kids struggling with homelessness and hear a testimony of the kind of impact said organization has on people in the community. That afternoon we got to spend a whole hour in prayer communing with God and just resting in Him while sitting in nature! We definitely encourage you all to try an hour of prayer whatever that looks like whether it’s outside walking or sitting on your couch, just sit with Him and see what happens! Of course we ended that wonderful day with some ice cream at handles which was a sweet reminder of home! On Wednesday we went to a local families house and helped prep some newcomer bags for our church plant and we got fed some amazing cheeseburgers! Today we got to spend time with some ladies in the ministry working on making some care cards for wellness and birthdays! We also stopped by a coffee shop and ended up meeting a sweet student who we plan to do a bible study with how sweet! praising God everyday for His power, guidance, and for sustaining us through our long days! thank you all for your prayer and encouragement! please continue praying for endurance in Him and for devine conversations and open hearts and minds for the city of San Diego!
