When someone joins Prairie, we pair them with a “Prairie Pal”: someone from the congregation who can help them feel at home and invite them to get together one time in the coming month. That gathering can be simple: coffee, a walk, a meal, or whatever feels natural. The hope is not to add one more obligation, but to create space for genuine connection. Sometimes these pairings become a friendly first step into the life of the church—and sometimes lifelong friendships are formed. Pictured here are two Prairie Pals who really hit it off: Beth Reasoner and Dodie Serafini. Their matching T-shirts say it all! We give thanks for the many ways Prairie Pals help us go deeper in our connection to one another. 🤝

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.” — Isaiah 43:2

Across the Mountain Sky Conference, our hearts are with all those facing devastating wildfires in Utah and Colorado and catastrophic flooding in northern Montana.

We grieve with those who grieve. We pray for those living with uncertainty. We give thanks for first responders, emergency personnel, volunteers, churches, and neighbors who are rushing toward need with courage, compassion, and hope.

In moments like these, United Methodists remember who we are called to be: a connectional people who pray, respond, give, serve, and walk alongside communities not only in the immediate crisis, but through the long journey toward healing.

Bishop Kristin Stoneking has shared a pastoral letter and update with the people of Mountain Sky, offering prayer, important disaster response guidance, and ways we can support relief efforts through UMCOR and our Conference emergency response ministries.

To those directly affected: you are not alone. Your church stands with you. Your conference stands with you. And together, we will continue walking the way of loving boldly.
