π Commissioning Cadet of the Week: Khiem Hinh π
Join us in celebrating Cadet Khiem Hinh as he commissions from the Mountain Ranger Battalion! πΊπΈ
π The Journey:
Born in Vietnam, Khiem immigrated to Houston, Texas, in 2011 and earned his United States citizenship in 2017. His military journey began in 2021 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist. Driven by a commitment to service and leadership, he was later selected for the highly competitive Green to Gold Active-Duty Option program. π
βοΈ Experience & Service:
Cadet Hinh brings significant operational experience to the officer corps. He previously served with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado, and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. During his deployment, he served as a Battalion CBRN Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, demonstrating the leadership potential that paved his way to the Green to Gold program. π‘οΈ
π Academic Excellence:
While navigating the transition from enlisted to officer, Khiem demonstrated exceptional dedication at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In May 2026, he will be graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration, as he successfully balances his military responsibilities with his academic pursuits. π
π₯Ύ The Next Chapter:
Cadet Hinh has commissioned into the Adjutant General (AG) Corps! Following graduation, he will attend the AG Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, before reporting to his first duty station as an officer at Fort Cavazos, Texas. He is accompanied on this next chapter by his wife, Thi Yen Chi La, and their child, Kai Hinh. π
Congratulations, Khiem! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and the wealth of experience you bring to the Army. We look forward to the impact you will make as an Adjutant General officer! ποΈ
