Colorado has entered Phase 3 of the state's Drought Response Plan. Thanks to our risk-based planning, we have adequate storage going into the summer, but it's critical that we all do our part to make every drop count — just like our furry friend, is doing!

Our safety tip of the week is to never approach a downed power line.⚡ Assume all utility lines are energized! If you are near a power line when you are in your car, remember to:
- Call 911.
- You are safer inside the car! Stay there until rescue workers arrive.
- If you must leave your car due to fire or other dangers, do not single step out of the car. Instead, jump clear, land with your feet together and shuffle away with small steps, keeping your feet close together and on the ground at all times.
If you see a damaged or downed power line, call 911 or 719-448-4800.

This National Safety month, as we head into more patio dinners and evenings spent relaxing outside, keeping safety top of mind is a priority—especially when using natural gas appliances.
A great tip to remember is knowing the 3 S’s of a gas leak
- Smell: A strong odor like rotten eggs or skunk.
- Sight: Dead vegetation, bubbling water or blowing dirt near gas lines.
- Sound: Hissing near appliances or gas lines.
