Fire Science Technology CPAT | Pikes Peak State College The CPAT was developed to allow fire departments to obtain pools of trainable candidates who are physically able to perform essential job tasks at fire scenes.

The Columbus, Indiana Fire Department is a 95 member career fire agency that responded to over 7,000 emergency calls in 2022. Our Firefighters work on a 24/48 shift schedule. Our highly trained firefighters are skilled in numerous technical rescue disciplines including: Hazardous Materials, Vehicle Extrication, Rope Rescue, Surface Ice Rescue, Water Rescue and ARFF. As an Advanced Life Support-Non Transport agency, you'll get great exposure to a wide range of medical calls that will put your EMT skills to the test. With an average of 30 working structure fires each year, you'll put your training to work.
