He Is Risen

I often think of the scene in Narnia where Aslan returns to Narnia and all of the trees come alive.

When he was gone all of the wonders of that magical world seem to be asleep. In a blanket of snow everything was awaiting his return.

Aslan is all but a simple allegory for Christs return.

Jesus victory over death is an invitation for all of us to experience that same victory to no longer be bound by fear and anxiety. To no longer feel the crushing weight of the unknown. But to truly come to life in a new and everlasting way that gives us the freedom to express love and grace to all those around us. Our friends. Our enemies. And every one in between.

We can love, because he first loved us.

At Wistful we (my husband and i) try to embody this truth by giving and loving freely as often as we can. Without this foundation Wistful would be a different company, filled with grief and bitterness to the hardship of owning a reactive dog an owning a business. From off leash dogs to product copy cats, there’s a lot in this world to walk away with a hardened heart.

But the forgiveness found in Christ is unlike any other. It’s given me the ability to seek to love and understand those who have hurt me or Chestnut. To forgive people for their off leash dog mistakes and to forgive myself for my own shorting comings. To see others as Christ sees them.
