Established in the 1800s, Ashcroft, like many towns in the wild west, was part of the pioneers' pilgrimage across America. Prospectors came in search of gold and silver. Today, photographers come in search of a different kind of gold. . . One that can only be found on the brilliant aspen forests during fall colors.

Situated on the rugged California coast, Bixby Bridge celebrates the combination of architecture and the natural world. At sunset, the bridge glows with a soft yellow hue that matches the shimmering horizon, golden beaches and rolling hills.

Welcome to the American Southwest! Arches National Park is home to the largest concentration of naturally occurring rock arches on Planet Earth. This image was captured from 500 meters away using a 300mm lens. The telephoto effect helps to compress the red rock towers and the snow capped mountains in the distance into a pleasing composition.
