There's a hint of Fall in the air in Aggieland, football season has started, and businesses are finding their stride again after the familiar summer lull. Our college town bustle is back and we have much to celebrate!

That is exactly what Jose Quintana and I and our Advent GX team will be doing on November 21st at Ice House on Main during the annual Town & Gown community celebration in Historic Downtown Bryan, Texas.

This year we will put the spotlight on Texas A&M University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences while celebrating both Texas A&M University and our area businesses.

So dig out your dancing shoes, ladies. Gentlemen, dust off those Texas tuxedos. We are going all out again for the 2024 Town & Gown Community Celebration. There will be dinner, dancing to live music, cocktails, and conversation...all inspired by the town and gown traditions of notable university communities such as Oxford and Cambridge.

Special thanks to our presenting sponsor Reynolds and Reynolds for generously underwriting the evening. And thanks to our planning partners TAMU Community Engagement.

Early bird pricing for tickets and tables is available now through September 30. Visit https://lnkd.in/g9a9BuHJ to get your tickets.

Come celebrate with us!

For two semesters, I walked by Carport Coffee on University every day to and from class. The tiny, aesthetic shop always called my name but somehow, I never went in until last Wednesday. I was meeting a friend, who is a regular, and the shop was crowded with students and residents getting to work, so we had to wait for someone to give up their seat.

While waiting, I ordered a “Peggy’s Peach Cold Brew,” their summer special and I was blown away. The cold brew was just strong enough and it was made with oatmilk, cinnamon, and actually peach chunks at the bottom. It tasted exactly like a peach cobbler! No wonder the little shop is so popular! If you’re looking for a new location to do your homework, do your daily devotional or you just need a coffee stop before your afternoon class, check out Carport (p.s. If you don’t like oatmilk, try Carport’s! You’ll change your mind).

Do you have a taco addiction and need your taco fix? Velvet Taco is a unique way to cure your craving. Velvet Taco is a funky twist on your classic tacos, offering a chicken and waffles taco, a falafel taco, a shrimp and grits taco and so much more.

I first had Velvet Taco in Dallas and immediately got hooked. I started with their Queso Blanco which is the most perfect creamy texture paired with blue corn chips. The Queso was only the beginning of my love for Velvet Taco as I continued to go and try more of their diverse menu. Velvet Taco is located in Century Square next to Tiff’s Treats in College Station. If you need a taco or want to go on an incredible Tex-Mex adventure, Velvet Taco is the place to go.
