🚨 BOIL WATER ORDER IN EFFECT 🚨
The Connecticut Water Company has issued a mandatory Boil Water Order for customers which includes Clinton, after E. coli bacteria was detected during routine testing at a sample location.
If you are a Connecticut Water customer in Clinton:
* Do NOT drink tap water without boiling it first.
* Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then let it cool before:
* Drinking
* Preparing food or baby formula
* Making ice
* Brushing your teeth
* Washing dishes
⚠️ If your home is served by a private well, this boil water order does NOT apply to you.
Connecticut Water is working closely with the Connecticut Department of Public Health and has completed additional water sampling throughout the system. Test results are expected within approximately 24 hours, and additional updates will be shared as they become available.
