We work tirelessly to raise awareness and educate communities about the dangers of prescription narcotics (e.g., Vicodin, Oxycontin, and Percocet), as well as other drugs. We also offer compassionate support and services to individuals and families affected by addiction. Our initiatives include Hope Not Handcuffs, the Comeback Quick Response Team post-overdose wellness check, and Stronger Together, a 12-step program for friends and family of those with a substance use disorder. Prescription drugs have become the “drug of choice” among young people aged 12-18. Most who misuse these drugs believe they are safer than illicit drugs because they are prescribed by health care professionals. Yet, prescription painkillers are every bit as addictive and deadly as heroin, when abused. Nearly 255 people die from drug overdoses every day in the United States. Thousands more are struggling or in recovery. These are good kids from good families. And it’s happening everywhere--no neighborhood is immune. Be informed. Knowledge saves lives.
