Day 4 of our Dominican Republic Medical Brigade: 129 patients seen on our biggest clinic day of the week. 💙

On their final clinic day, our volunteers cared for 129 patients, including many children who came for check-ups and some with more serious health concerns. A large number of patients were of Haitian descent and spoke only Creole, so community members stepped in to help translate from English to Spanish and then from Spanish to Creole.

Due to dynamics in the country, many Haitians avoid public health facilities. So our clinic provided a welcoming place where families could seek medical attention.

Today, after a busy and successful week serving this community, the team was able to spend some well-earned time at a local beach to rest and recharge before returning home.

Day 2 of our Dominican Republic Medical Brigade was filled with meaningful impact! 💙 On the first clinic day inside the newly constructed LightHouse clinic — set to officially open this fall — our volunteer team provided care to 109 patients through pediatric, general medicine and women’s health appointments.

Each patient first met with our triage volunteers before seeing a provider. Patients left with medications and follow-up connections to local doctors when additional care was needed. We’re grateful to help bring compassionate care and support to this community.
