Yo, NoRo - tonight was SoRo fun!

Beautiful weather gave way to THIRTEEN teams tonight. Garage doors were open, drinks were slung and the food coming from the kitchen looked just darn delicious!

Round 1: Kinda tough, new teams feeling things out. Scores were low. Both the Cougars and We Don't Know answered 11 of 17 questions correct. But as you well know it's WHICH questions you answer correctly. We Don't Know led a good portion of this round, but only wagered 2 pts for the final. Cougars had 79pts heading into final, but bet...it...all. To the victors go the spoils. Cougars into first and 6 teams streamrolled past We Don't Know and their tepid wager. We needed a tie-breaker for 2nd place between The Dance Moms and Moose. When posed with how many stories make up the Terminal Tower, the Price is Right scenario played out. Moose said 32; Dance Mom went the wrong direction and said 31. The answer is 54. Moose wins!

Round 2: The 'always easier' 2nd round kicked off with questions about Beer Pong, Shopping and One-Hit Wonders. Teams enjoyed TWO socials in the always easier round 2 (a testament) and the scores were PILING up. The Dance Moms led the entire way heading into the final along with Ken & The Wiggles (both answering 14 of 17 correct!). The final question about traditions threw some teams back into modest wagering, but not for the top 2, they both were going big...or going home. When the teams started keying in on the accompanying song, they both got the question correct sending it into an amazing finish. Kudos to both!

Here are just some of the things that were learned tonight:
- The first Pantone color named after a character was Minion Yellow
- TMZ stands for Thirty Mile Zone
- Julia Roberts has a supervocalic name (all vowels used exactly once
- QVC stands for Quality Value Convenience
- Almost nobody knew that the bean in Chicago is called Cloudgate
- Filthy minds won out, as they do, in Survey Says!

We also had a harbinger of good things perhaps when a bird flew into the venue and landed on someone's shoulder. It was tagged and identified as a domestic parakeet. Bird was captured safely in a beer box, transferred to an actual bird cage and the owners are being sought. For now, the official parakeet of Trivia Night is being called Corona.

Thanks for everyone who played and participated. The game ran smooth. We are still working out the A/V kinks in getting into both the outside and inside screens, so that was a little unfulfilling.

But, until we meet again next Wednesday - stay curious!
