Feelings are NOT Facts.
Remember to separate your feelings from facts. When you drive with your feelings as factual truths, you head for a relational collision. Something can feel real but NOT be the truth of the situation.
You may know this truth cognitively but when under pressure or feeling stress, do you act as if how you feel about a person or situation is a fact?
It's very common to react when you "feel" the facts of a situation in a negative way. You want to stop the pain you are feeling and you react from that wounded place.
What if I told you that you could learn to pause when you feel the pain and learn to separate your feelings from the facts of the situation and then respond (instead of react) accordingly? I WILL teach you how to build the ARK and rise above feelings. You acknowledge but you won't live there anymore.
Instead of allowing your emotions to steer you towards relational collisions, envision a world where you confidently navigate with clarity and emotional freedom.
Picture this: You're faced with a situation where your feelings are at odds with the reality of a relationship. Perhaps your husband gives in to his ex-wife but fights you on parenting. You believe if he really loved and knew you, he wouldn't.
Instead of reacting impulsively, imagine pausing and recognizing the truth: Your husband loves you and he gives in to her to save YOU from drama she'll bring if she doesn't get what she wants.
By embracing this reframe, you unlock a new way of engaging with othersโone rooted in understanding and authenticity. Gone are the days of feeling trapped by emotional turmoil or resorting to defensive reactions. You'll learn to ride out the emotional floods of others.
If you're ready to break free from the cycle of emotional reactivity and embrace a more mindful approach to communication, let's connect.

"Hey there, lovely ladies! It's time to shine and embrace every moment with joy! โจ"
As a communication consultant and coach at Reframing Relationships, I am honored to walk alongside incredible women like you who are navigating the complex journey of life, remarriage, and blended families. I believe that through understanding, support, and love, we can create nurturing and thriving relationships that stand the test of time.
Fun fact about me: I'm embracing this new chapter with open arms and a sense of wanderlust. With the nest empty, my spouse and I have traded textbooks for travel guides and PTA meetings for strolls down new roads. Balancing work and travel, we have been busy exploring the world one destination at a time. My two favorites this year: Barcelona and Budapest (Sopron). From tasting local dishes to discovering hidden gems, there's something exhilarating about rediscovering myself and connecting with my husband through travel. Andy surprised me with a trip to my great grandfather's village (Sopron, Hungary) last month and it was pretty special to walk the streets and visit the squares he once traveled.
Let's connect and uplift each other!
Drop a โค๏ธ in the comments if you're also navigating the joys and challenges of motherhood/stepmotherhood, remarriage, or blended families. Are you an empty nester?
Feel free to share your favorite piece of advice or any specific topics you'd like me to cover in future posts. Together, we can build a supportive community where we can grow and learn from one another. Tag a friend who would love to join this amazing journey too! ๐๐

It's true. The complexities of stepfamily life break a woman.
It's also true that the same woman who was broken by stepfamily dynamics CAN rebuild!
A stepmom who chooses to take the pieces and rebuild will emerge stronger, more resilient and understanding of her needs and can experience emotional freedom like never before. And she can rebuild especially when guided and surrounded by other stepmoms working towards the same goals of rising up!
๐ผA stepmom who chooses to become comfortable with others not liking her....
๐ผA stepmom who can allow her no to be no without explanation....
๐ผA stepmom who can set and enforce a boundary to protect her peace....
๐ผA stepmom who prioritizes her marriage and understands the difference between right and responsible...
๐ผA stepmom who recognizes she cannot control the words and actions of others.....
is a woman who knows she does not have to react and that her worth comes from God and it's okay if someone chooses not to like her.
She learns the tools to rebuild and this time she knocks down the myths that if only she were more godly that her stepfamily would be perfectly blended.๐
