Tuesday, July 7: Discover the Wisconsin swan story from Sumner Matteson, who led the state’s swan program. Learn how Iowa is engaging the public through swan-events. Explore the tracking of swans in Oregon. Find out how young swans are prepared for release into the Oregon wild over several months. Then, Steve Devon who produced our film, Return of the Trumpeters will share what it was like to create this film. Then be part of its conference screening, complete with popcorn! Cost: $30
Thursday, July 9: Explore how Ohio zoos are engaging children and adults in swan conservation, how Trumpeter Swan Society’s webinars are recording the stories of the swan’s return, and the importance of your swan sightings through Trumpeter Watch. Discover the richness, and the threats to National Wildlife Refuge. Learn about swans of the Midwest movements during a three-year GPS/GSM study. And more! Cost $30
Wednesday, July 8: All day field trip exploring the world of swans, cranes and conservation. A visit to the world-famous International Crane Foundation, followed by a tour of Aldo Leopold’s Shack and grounds at the Aldo Leopold Foundation, ending with a tour of Necedah National Wildlife Refuge and a look at a real-world wetland project that can help swans and cranes. Cost $75
