In mid-May, the Glass Bubble Project hosted a group workshop for Beyond the Challenge 501c3, a special needs support organization in Independence, and the result was a special, creative experience for workshop attendees and glassblower instructors, alike.
Beyond the Challenge is a 501(c)(3) created in September of 2010. They provide support, advocacy, education, and resources to people with disabilities and/or their families to help them get beyond their challenges. The mission of Beyond the Challenge is to advocate for people with special needs to ensure they have opportunities, experiences, and education to reach their highest potential and become fully-integrated members of society. www.beyondthechallenge.com

"Performing the national anthem in at the Cleveland Cavaliers game on was an experience I will never forget. It was incredible having an opportunity to represent the Deaf community as well as a language that is accessible to all visual learners. Being on that court, sharing ASL with an arena full of people, felt like a powerful reminder that communication takes many beautiful forms — and that every community deserves to be seen and celebrated." -Keri November (video by Andrew November)

Edison’s Pizza Kitchen Returns to ! Tremont… Guess Who’s Back? Surprise! (Okay not really — everyone’s been watching construction through the windows.) Edison’s Pizza Kitchen (1307 Auburn) is officially coming back home to Tremont.
We’re moved into the old Lava Lounge space, adding some new energy, keeping some nostalgia, and promising to serve pizza that’s worth talking about later.
We’re starting VERY softly — like whisper-soft.
Limited hours, every Friday and Saturday for the next few weeks from 4pm- late.
Limited menu. Lots of excitement.
Because opening a restaurant is hard and we believe in honesty.
And for everyone asking:
No, we’re not leaving Dave’s or Lucky’s.
We love them. We’re staying.
You can also still bake us in your pajamas — Edison’s Take & Bake lives on at both grocery stores.
Tremont, thanks for welcoming us home. We missed you.
