PSG and RubberNews are hosting a Webinar on the Elimination of DPG in Rubber Compounds:

Following the successful commercialization of the SureMix® line of functional performance process aids introduced to overcome the silica compound mixing, processing, and performance challenges; Polymer Solutions Group, LLC (PSG) is developing a novel product line to replace the rubber accelerator diphenylguanidine (DPG). PSG’s new product line is aligned with the Tire Industry Project's goal to eliminate leachable derivatives related to DPG in silica compounds.

Unlike existing DPG alternatives that negatively impact either cure kinetics or tire performance, PSG’s new products are designed to provide advantages over existing DPG alternatives with respect to cure kinetics, silica dispersion, compound processability, green compound shelf-life stability, and rolling resistance. Unlike DPG, which creates environmental and health hazards by releasing aniline, PSG’s new developments utilize sustainable raw materials that eliminate the aniline concern.
